Just when I thought the dominance of Australia on the world sporting stage was over, some of our lesser known champions are flying the flag and doing us all proud.

Mark Webber celebrates his first grand prix victory
After 130 starts, Australian Formula One driver Mark Webber has won his first grand prix and he thoroughly deserves it! The Aussie driver of the Red Bull team finished in front at the end of the 60 lap grand prix in Germany and didn’t he celebrate it!!
After eight years in Formula One Webber finally was the first to see the chequered flag. Like many Australians I couldn’t turn the television off last night as Webber weaved his magic around the German track. The win was even more amazing because Webber received a drive through penalty for colliding with Brawn’s Rubens Barrichello on the first turn.
