Be a V8 Race Car Driver for a day! - Perth

The day commences at 8.30am with a light breakfast while you meet the other drivers. This is followed by a short but informative lecture on vehicle dynamics and driving principles. The rest of the morning is spent driving practice sessions around the track. After a delicious gourmet lunch you will do a timed qualifying session, then practice driver changes and team tactics. You will then do handicapped team races with the thrill of Bathurst style pit stops for driver changes and critical lap times. The event finishes around 5pm after the trophies have been awarded and certificates have been presented. You will not only walk away with a smile from ear to ear but also a team photo as a momento from us.

Chevrolet Brewery Tour & V8 Driving For 2

We pick you up from your Brisbane location in a V8 1957 Chevrolet then take you to the driving centre where you drive six laps each around the race track of a V8 Super School car. Next stop, a brewery or winery tour, making for an ultimate day out! You and a friend will feel like retro stars when we pick you from your home in a magnificently restored V8 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. Sit back in style as your driver takes you to the Holden Performance Driving Centre at Norwell, a 50-minute cruise south-east of the Brisbane CBD. At the driving school it's your turn to get behind the wheel of a 450 horsepower V8 Super School car . Here you experience the thrill of driving six laps at your own pace. This will really get your adrenaline pumping! Following the excitement at the race track you enjoy another chauffeured cruise to your choice of either the Carlton United Brewery at Yatala or the Castlemaine Perkins XXXX Brewery at Milton. On arrival at the brewery you are given a fully guided tour. This is followed by a tasting session, during which you get to try some of Australia's finest beers! However if beer isn't your thing you can opt for wine tasting at Sirromet Winery in Mt Cotton instead. It's then back to the Chevy for one last cruise to your designated drop off location.

Aussies Love Hotted Up Cars

Australian's have always had a fascination with sport. When you combine this love with another favourite passion of ours, hotted up cars, it is no surprise that the popularity of the V8 Supercars is unprecedented in Australia.

After World War II, the racing of cars occurred all across Australia. There were old airfields turned into tracks and many mountain climbing events popped up in 1950s.

The Australian Touring Car Championships were in full swing by 1960 and provided a national competition for rev heads to follow and participate in.

The Australian Touring Car Championships bred one of Australia's biggest sporting cultures and one question still divides the nation today; Are you a Ford or Holden fan?

The Touring Car Championships developed into a national sport and was the basis for what is the V8 Supercars series as we know it today.

Figures from Australian Bureau of Statistics 2005-2006 survey found that motor sport was in the top four of all sports that people over the age of 15 years attended. Australian Rules Football accounted for 16% of the nation, with horse racing at 12% and both Rugby League and motor sport at 9%.

Did You Know This About V8's?

Ian Geoghegan, Mark Skaife and Dick Johnson have all won 5 series championships. However, Geoghegan won four of them consecutively in 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969.

At 21 years, 11 months and 11 days, Craig Lowndes was the youngest driver to secure a series win. He did this in 1996 in Round 9 at Mallala.

Robbie Francevic was the oldest driver to win a V8 championship series at the age of 44 years, 8 months and five days.

Ford has won the series 21 times and Holden only 13 times. However, Holden has won 163 races compared to Ford's 126.
